Unpacking

The archives available at this site come in two formats, RAR (file extension .rar) and 7-Zip (file extension .7z).

RAR has been used on this site from beginning. To unpack it, you either need the freeware depacker UnRAR.exe (135228 bytes), or just use 7-zip (see below) which supports them as well. The entire package of WinRAR can be downloaded at its official website RAR&FAR. An example of unpacking a Tr_Songs.rar archive:

UnRAR.exe x Tr_Songs.rar

or

7z.exe x Tr_Songs.rar

and the archived files will be unpacked into the current folder with the directory structure preserved.

.7z format archives have a greater compression ratio, and 7-Zip is open-source. You can download the utility to unpack it from this site: 7za.exe (255329 bytes). The full 7-Zip package, which supports RAR and ZIP extraction as well, can be downloaded from the official site of the 7-Zip project. Here is an example of unpacking a Tr_Songs.7z archive:

7za.exe x Tr_Songs.7z

and files from archive will be unpacked into the current folder with the directory structure preserved.
